As Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to dominate the box office, all eyes are now on Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release Bhooth Bangla, which is set to hit theatres on April 10, 2026. Addressing the same during a recent media interaction, Akshay Kumar made it clear that there’s little to worry about. He expressed happiness over the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, calling it a positive sign for the film industry. According to him, a strong-performing film only boosts the overall theatrical ecosystem.
Akshay pointed out that the three-week window between the two releases is generally enough for a film to run its course in cinemas. “Twenty-one days is a good enough time,” he said, adding that successful films also create more buzz and opportunities for the industry as a whole. In his view, if movies perform well, it benefits everyone—from exhibitors to artists.
He also highlighted that both films cater to completely different audiences. While Dhurandhar: The Revenge is an intense, adult-oriented action film, Bhooth Bangla is designed as a light-hearted horror-comedy suitable for families and younger viewers. This difference in genre, he believes, will allow both films to coexist without significantly affecting each other’s business.
Akshay further revealed that Bhooth Bangla wasn’t made to follow any current trend. Instead, the team focused on delivering a strong story. “We didn’t think about trends while making this film. The priority was always whether the story works,” he shared.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla marks his reunion with Akshay Kumar after a long gap—something fans have been eagerly waiting for. The film boasts a strong ensemble cast including Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, and Wamiqa Gabbi.
